How To Stop Sucking At Marketing

Every business is a marketing business. If you don’t market and let the world know how you can serve them (and how they can pay you to serve them) – YOU DON’T HAVE A BUSINESS. Period.

Since you have to spend the time and do the work if you want to have a profitable business, and not an expensive hobby, you might as well do it well to make it worth your while, right?

Marketing can sound intimidating, but it’s really not rocket science.

  1. STOP saying “I suck at marketing” – your subconscious mind is very good at turning what you tell it into reality. If you stop believing that you can’t do it, you will actually be motivated to take the action to do it well.
  2. Come up with focused strategies – be clear about where you are going with your business, come up with strategies that will direct your efforts effectively, and pick a few tactics and DO THEM WELL. You don’t have to do everything, you just have to do a few things that matter, and do them well.
  3. Be diligent – put in consistent effort and keep at it. It takes up to 7 exposures to a marketing message before a person would act upon it. Show up, do the work, and don’t say “it doesn’t work” after posting one little message on Facebook.
